Upcoming Pub Nights

The Pub Night evenings have now resumed; the bar will typically be open typically from 5 pm till 10:30 pm but there will be some special events these coming weeks when the opening times may be different.

Paned o De” Welsh Conversation Group

Jackie will be holding “siarad cymraeg” sessions for a 2 hour period starting at 10 am. Dates for these upcoming sessions are:

  • Saturday, March 16th.

  • Saturday, March 30th.

Welsh Reading Group

In 2024 the Reading Group will meet on Saturdays, from 9–10 a.m. These classes are conducted by Antone (antone.minard@gmail.com).

Noson Lawen and Pub Night

On Friday 22nd March from 6:00 to 10:30 pm there will be a Noson Lawen, an evening of fun and entertainment at the Hall. This event will take the form of a “talent show.” Please email mail@WelshSociety.com if you’d like to perform.

    Twmpath / Barn Dance

    The Society is planning to hold one of its very popular Twmpath dances on Saturday 6th. April 2024 from 7:30 till 10:30 pm. The event will feature The Rattlebone Band with caller Jennifer Parkinson-Dow. More details to follow. Come and dance, meet friends and listen to the band! The bar will be open and snacks will be available. The dance will be held in the upper hall.

    British Heritage Festival

    This will be held on April 6th between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm. Come on down to the Welsh tent and help promote Welsh culture, language and customs. For further details contact Pat at druidsgreen@gmail.com


    Mayday Children’s Party!

    On Saturday 4 May from 2:00 to 5:00 pm there will be a children’s party at the Cambrian Hall. So, fun, games and treats for kids! For further details contact Megan at mlievesley@gmail.com

    Whitsun/Pentecost Church Service

    The service will be held on Sunday May 19th and will commence at 2 pm. The Whitsun Church Service will be the first of two services for 2024, one in Spring and one in there will be a new feature, an Ysgol Gan (a “song school”) held before the church service from 12:30 to 1:30 pm, to give attendees a chance to brush up their pronunciation, but with song! Fall. The Rev. Marilyn Hames will officiate. The service will combine our traditional format with the addition of some extra hymns (which will put a smile on the faces of those who loved our Gymanfa Ganu in the past! In addition, )

    Walking Group

    The Walking Group will meet at 11 am every other Monday. Email details will be sent to members re the locations and the dates.

    Book Club

    The Book Club will continue to hold virtual meetings via ZOOM on the 2nd Thursday of every month starting at 10am. Please contact Gillian via mail@WelshSociety.com if you would like to join the virtual meeting of The Book Club.
